Belarusian State University of Food and Chemical Technologies was founded in 1973. It is a unique higher educational establishment of the Republic of Belarus that trains engineers-technologists, mechanical engineers and economists for food processing and chemical industries in 14 specialties of bachelor's degree, 10 specialties of magistracy, 12 specialties of postgraduate study and 2 specialties of doctoral studies.
More than 30,000 specialists have been trained at the University. All graduates studying on a budgetary basis are allocated to enterprises in the State sector of the economy.
There are 5 faculties, 19 departments, Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel at the university. The university has a postgraduate course, a doctoral study and a Council for the defense of dissertations.
The University currently employs 2 Doctors of Sciences, corresponding Members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, 12 Doctors of Sciences, 92 Candidates of Sciences, most of whom are well-known CIS scientists and the only specialists in our country in selected scientific fields in the field of food technology
Among the specialties and specializations there is Technology of Milk and Dairy Products, Technology of Meat and Meat Products, Technology of Food Products of Long-Term Storage, Technology of Bakery, Pasta, Confectionery and Food Concentrates, Technology of Fermentation and Winemaking, Technology of Production and Catering, Technology of Chemical Fibers, Machines and Apparatus of Food Production, Automation of Technological Processes and Production in the Food Industry, Refrigerating Machines and Installations, Information Systems and Technologies.
The university's infrastructure includes 2 educational buildings, 2 dormitories, a library, a dining room, a medical center, a sports complex.
